Koh Chang
Thailand's last unspoiled island paradise
About Koh Chang
Koh Chang is Thailand's third-largest island and one of the last to resist overdevelopment. Protected as a national park, it offers pristine beaches, dense jungle, and an authentic Thai island experience. No McDonald's, no Starbucks — just palm trees, waterfalls, and great value.

Where to Stay
4 areas in Koh Chang — each with a different vibe and price range
White Sand Beach
The most developed beach with the best restaurants, 7-Elevens, and nightlife. Walking distance to everything. Can feel touristy in peak season but that's because it's genuinely the best all-rounder.
฿800–3,000/night
Lonely Beach
The backpacker hub. Cheap bungalows, reggae bars, fire shows on the beach. Not actually lonely anymore but still has that laid-back vibe. Best budget area on the island.
฿300–800/night
Klong Prao Beach
Long quiet beach split by a river. More spread out and peaceful than White Sand. Great resorts with pools. The sweet spot between convenience and tranquility.
฿1,500–5,000/night
Bang Bao
Fishing village on stilts at the southern tip. Quietest spot on the island. Amazing seafood, boat trips to smaller islands. Limited nightlife — that's the point.
฿600–2,000/night

Local Tips

Book ferry + bus combo from Bangkok (฿500) — faster than flying to Trat.
Bring cash — ATMs charge ฿220 and many places are cash-only.
East coast is quieter and cheaper than west coast.
