I've been going to Thailand for over a decade. Not the "two weeks in Phuket" kind — the kind where you know which 7-Eleven has the best toasties at 3am, which ferry schedule is actually reliable, and what a room on Koh Chang costs in low season vs high season.
I built BahtWise because I was tired of seeing the same recycled budget numbers everywhere. "Bangkok costs $50/day" — says who? Doing what? Staying where? Those numbers mean nothing without context.
The budget calculator uses real prices I've tracked across 21+ destinations, broken down by actual travel style — not some arbitrary "budget/mid/luxury" label, but what things genuinely cost when you're there.

How we keep it honest
Real prices, verified regularly. Hotel prices come from live Agoda data. Budget estimates are based on actual spending, not guesswork. When prices change, we update.
No fake reviews, no paid rankings. If we recommend a place, it's because we'd stay there ourselves. We use affiliate links for hotels and transport — it doesn't cost you anything extra, and it keeps BahtWise free.
We say "I don't know" when we don't. Haven't been to a destination recently? We won't pretend. Gaps are gaps. We'd rather leave something out than make it up.
A note on AI
We use AI tools to help with research, formatting, and staying on top of Thailand news from multiple sources. Every article is reviewed and edited by a human before publishing. The budget data, personal experiences, and recommendations are real — the AI helps us work faster, not make things up.
