Tan Phasakornnatee, the managing director of Ichitan Group PCL, was taken to a hospital early this morning after falling from a concert stage at the WONDER ONE Music Festival at Khao Chi Chan in Chon Buri's Sattahip district.
The incident happened around midnight during the festival's final night. Tan is the face of the popular Ichitan green tea brand you see everywhere in Thailand — in 7-Elevens, street vendors, basically any cold drink fridge in the country.
What Actually Happened
The fall occurred at Khao Chi Chan, which is about an hour southeast of Bangkok in Chon Buri province. This is the same area known for the giant Buddha image carved into the cliff face that tourists visit.
Details about how serious the fall was or Tan's current condition weren't included in the initial reports. The festival was wrapping up its final night when it happened.
Why This Matters for Thailand
Ichitan Group is huge here. If you've spent any time in Thailand, you've definitely seen their green tea bottles with the distinctive branding. Tan Phasakornnatee is the public face of the company and regularly appears at events like this.
The company has been a major player in Thailand's beverage market for years, competing with brands like Oishi and other local tea companies.
About the Festival Location
Khao Chi Chan is in Sattahip district, which is part of the greater Pattaya area. It's known mainly for the Buddha Mountain — a massive outline of Buddha carved into the limestone cliff that's visible from kilometers away.
The area hosts various events throughout the year, though it's not typically known as a major festival venue like some other spots in Thailand.
The WONDER ONE Music Festival was apparently a multi-day event, with this incident happening on what was scheduled to be the closing night.
What We Don't Know Yet
The original reports don't specify how Tan ended up falling from the stage, whether he was performing, speaking, or just attending the event. Also unclear is the extent of any injuries or which hospital he was taken to.
Given that Ichitan is a publicly traded company in Thailand, there will likely be more details coming out about his condition and what exactly happened.
For now, it's just another reminder that even business events and festivals can turn serious quickly. Hopefully the guy is okay — Thailand's beverage scene wouldn't be the same without those green tea bottles everywhere.
